NAME
exam - analyze archive files
SYNOPSIS
exam [ options ] -d desfile
DESCRIPTION
The descriptor file desfile is opened and read. exam is then ready to analyze archive files compatible with this descriptor. exam waits for commands to be typed. The options are:
-a arch: to open the archive file arch and read the first record into memory. It is convenient to specify the archive file on the command line together with the descriptor but you can also use an exam command to read in archives.
-n Natom: specify the number of atoms in the system to be Natom. This is rarely useful. If you specify this number, the descriptor and all the archives that you open must be compatible with this number of atoms.
-l lex: read lex for atom and group names. These names are required if you want to write PDB files. This is out-of-date. The names can be supplied from the name record in the descriptor file.
EXAMPLES
exam -a dna12.ar -d dna.dsAnalyze the archive file dna12.ar with the aid of the descriptor dna.ds.

DIAGNOSTICS
BUGS
The binary for IRIX 6.4 is buggy (core dumps easily). This issue has not been investigated so there is no workaround except to use an older machine.
